I’m often conflicted about Hannibal. So much about the show pulls me in, but then there are those moments … well, let’s just say I’m not a fan of knives. Or surgery. Or needles. You get the point.
It’s a beautiful show. It may be the most visually interesting show I’ve watched (along with Pushing Daisies, another Bryan Fuller series). The meandering flashbacks and artsy flourishes sometimes have a big impact on me. Other times, if I’m watching the show in a certain mood, they just annoy me and I want the plot to start going somewhere.
This episode got me. Pretty much every character is gunning for Hannibal at this point in the story, and this episode laid out everyone’s motivation in tracking him down. Even though I wasn’t a fan of how the last season ended when I watched it (rated the Season 2 finale a 7), it set up some interesting alliances for season three. I really want to see where this leads.
News came out recently that there will not be a season four, at least not on NBC. I’m hoping the rumors of it being picked up by a streaming service or cable channel come true. I want to live in this world more, even if I have to look away from time to time.
What I’m Listening To:
